What is polyamory?

Polyamory (a contrived word meaning "many loves") is the practice of loving more than one partner concurrently - openly, ethically, and honestly. Those who live a Polyamorous lifestyle engage in non-monogamous loving and sexual relationships.

Polyamory isn't cheating: relationships are conducted transparently with the full knowledge of all parties; Polyamory isn't swinging: it doesn't offer the promise of quid quo pro sexual access to other partners. Rather, those who live the lifestyle regard their love as open and abundant. Abundance is a core idea behind Polyamory.
